Martins Kayode Ajayi Shines as TUFC Secures Win in Second League Opener

Yesterday, on 24th July, Transport United FC (TUFC) began their second league campaign with an exhilarating away victory against Tsirang FC. In a match that showcased the skill and determination of the TUFC squad, the visitors triumphed with a 4-1 win over the host team.

The match kicked off with both teams displaying equal vigor and intent. Tsirang FC, buoyed by their home crowd, applied early pressure, creating several promising opportunities. The fans watched with bated breath as the hosts seemed poised to open the scoring with a series of impressive shots on target.

However, it was TUFC who broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. New signing and debutant striker ๐™ˆ๐™–๐™ง๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™จ ๐™†๐™–๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™™๐™š ๐˜ผ๐™Ÿ๐™–๐™ฎ๐™ž, who would later be named Man of the Match, found the back of the net with a clinical finish, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Ajayiโ€™s impact didn’t stop there; he went on to score a second goal, cementing his status as a key player for TUFC.

Despite the absence of top scorer Tshenda Dorji, sidelined due to suspension from previous double yellow cards, and Bikash, the TUFC attack remained formidable. The new combination of Jigdrel Wangchuk, Phurpa Tenzin, and Martins Kayode Ajayi proved to be a dynamic trio. Each of these players found the net, demonstrating the depth and versatility of TUFC’s offensive lineup.

The TUFC defense, bolstered by a well-composed midfield and agile wingers, put on a solid performance. The backline, along with standout goalkeeper Hari Gurung, kept Tsirang FC at bay for the majority of the match. Gurung’s spectacular saves were crucial in maintaining TUFC’s lead and added an extra layer of excitement for the fans.

Tsirang FC managed to score a consolation goal in the final minutes, capitalizing on a moment of transition after a goalkeeper substitution. However, the late goal did little to diminish the dominant display by TUFC. The final whistle confirmed a resounding 4-1 victory for the visitors.

With this win, TUFC now stands in 3rd position on the league table with 20 points from 10 matches. The team’s performance in this match not only secures crucial points but also boosts morale as they continue their quest for league glory.
