Another 3 Points in the Bag: Thrilling Win Over Gelephu Girls Academy U-20

Gelephu, August 27, 2025 – In a match full of drama, weather challenges, and pure determination, our girls battled through the elements to secure a well-earned 2-0 victory against Gelephu Girls Academy U-20 on their home turf.
The match kicked off under intense heat, testing the stamina of both sides from the very first whistle. Our team worked hard to adjust to the conditions, creating several early chances, but so did the home side. Thanks to some brilliant goalkeeping from Rupna Chakma, we kept a clean sheet through the first half. Her crucial saves ensured the score remained 0-0 at the break.
Just before halftime, heavy rain swept in, making the pitch nearly unplayable and forcing a temporary stoppage. After a brief delay, play resumed for the second half, but conditions remained difficult as waterlogged areas on the field disrupted the rhythm of both teams.

In the 64th minute, the match was paused again due to worsening ground conditions, especially near the goalposts and midfield. But after a 30-minute break and a lot of patience, the game resumed, and our girls came back fired up.
Only three minutes after the restart, in the 67th minute, Krishna Rani Sakar broke through the Gelephu defense with a fantastic finish to put us ahead 1-0. The momentum continued in our favor, and Rupna Chakma once again came up big with a crucial one-on-one save to maintain our lead.
In the dying moments of the match, Puja Rana sealed the deal with a spectacular set-piece goal in the 90th minute, leaving the opposing keeper no chance and securing all three points.
With this 2-0 win, our team continues its strong form and heads into the next challenge with confidence.
And Krishna Rani Sakar was appointed as a Women of the match.

Up next, we face Ugyen Academy Girls on September 7th at 6:00 PM at our home ground, Changlimithang Stadium. We’d love to see our fans and supporters out in full force once again. Let’s bring home another 3 points together!
