June 21, 2025 The much-anticipated clash between our team and Tsirang FC is set for tomorrow at our home ground, reigniting a rivalry that brought thrilling football moments last season.
Looking back, last year’s double-legged fixture saw our boys put on a determined and dominant performance. The first leg, played at home, was a tightly contested match that ended in a narrow 2-1 victory. Jigdrel opened the scoring early in the 8th minute with a precise finish from a set piece. The momentum continued when Phurba Tenzin, fondly known as “Baby,” launched a stunning long-range goal to double the lead. However, Tsirang FC managed to pull one back in the 38th minute, and despite chances from both sides in the second half, the match ended 2-1 in our favor.
The second leg, played on Tsirang’s home turf, was a statement of intent. Martin opened the scoring in the 17th minute, setting the tone for the match. The first half closed at 1-0, but it was the second half where our team truly shined. Phurba Tenzin added another spectacular goal in the 53rd minute, this time assisted by Abayomi with a clever pass. Martin struck again in the 76th minute, followed swiftly by Jigdrel’s blazing run and finish in the 78th. Tsirang FC managed a consolation goal in the 90th minute, but the scoreboard read 4-1 in our favor at full time.
