The first half has been a thrilling showcase of football, with the Transport United boys dominating the field. As we head into halftime, the scoreline reads 2-0 in favor of Transport United FC, while the visiting team is yet to register their first goal.
From the onset, Transport United FC displayed a cohesive and improved performance compared to their last three games of the season. The boys played with composure and calm, controlling the tempo and creating numerous scoring opportunities. Our standout player, AKA Mama, had a couple of clear chances to extend the lead but narrowly missed converting them into goals. Similarly, Phurba had a one-on-one opportunity with the Phuentsholing Heroes FC goalkeeper but couldn’t find the back of the net.
The first goal came at the 17th minute from Abayomi, igniting the home crowd with excitement. Just before the halftime whistle, Phurba, AKA Baby, doubled the lead with a clinical finish in the 45th minute plus added time.
Despite some tense moments, including a yellow card for Andrew Ebo Yamoah and a near-warning for Serge Dicka, the TUFC boys maintained their focus. On the other side, Phuentsholing Heroes FC seemed to struggle under the relentless pressure from Transport United’s attacks. Their goalkeeper has been exceptional, making crucial saves to keep his team in the game. However, Captain Hari Gurung of Transport United FC has had a relatively quiet first half, with little pressure from the opposing team.
The Phuentsholing Heroes FC players are visibly frustrated, struggling to hold their defensive line against the onslaught from Transport United. Their resilience in defense and goalkeeping is commendable, but they will need a significant turnaround in the second half to get back into the game.
