Transport United FC to Compete in the 40th Governor’s Gold Cup
Transport United FC is excited to announce its participation in the prestigious 40th Governor’s Gold Cup international football tournament in Sikkim, India. This highly anticipated event will take place from November 8th to 21st, 2024.
The tournament will feature sixteen teams, including four international clubs from Bhutan, Nepal, Malaysia, and Dubai. The four international clubs have been directly seeded into the quarterfinals. The remaining twelve teams will compete in the first round knock-out stage to determine the other quarterfinalists.
Our President Jigme Tshewang expressed his excitement about the team’s participation, stating, “We are delighted to be part of this prestigious tournament. It provides us with a fantastic opportunity to test our skills against strong opponents and gain valuable experience. This will not only elevate the profile of our club but also contribute to the growth of football in Bhutan.”
Our first game is on the 14th of November and the team is set to depart on the 11th of November 2024.
The tournament will be held at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, Sikkim.
