Transport United Stumbles Again

The atmosphere was electric as Thimphu’s favorites, Transport United FC and Thimphu City FC, took to the field. Fans from all over couldn’t resist gathering at Changlimithang, despite the rain, creating a vibrant scene with colorful umbrellas and chants of “Transport, Transport!” echoing through the stadium.

Both teams battled fiercely in the first half, with Transport United dominating possession but unable to find the back of the net. Thimphu City FC faced relentless pressure but held their ground, keeping the score at a tense 0-0 at halftime.

The second half started with a bang! Within just 10 minutes, Thimphu City FC surged ahead, scoring two quick goals and putting Transport United on the back foot. However, at the 74th minute, Phurba reignited hope for Transport United with a crucial goal, making it 2-1.

As the clock ticked down, both teams had opportunities to score, but the defenses held firm. In the final moments, the referee’s whistle blew, sealing a victory for Thimphu City FC, who leapfrogged to second place with 14 points. Meanwhile, Transport United FC, despite their valiant effort, remained at 11 points. This marks their second loss in a row, following a tough defeat against Tensung FC.
